What is AIB?
AIB is the Automobile Insurers Bureau.
Here how AIB describes itself:
"The AIB has been the auto industry’s service bureau here in Massachusetts since 1925, throughout the “Fix and Establish” era, and now in the “Managed Competition” era. We are an all-service organization for Personal and Commercial Auto offering rating support, rules and forms support, actuarial and legal services and much more for our 270+ member companies."
What AIB says about the New 2015 Auto Policy:
"The Division of Insurance has placed on file (approved) the AIB’s 2015 Massachusetts Automobile Insurance Policy. The SERFF Filing number is AIBM-130079016. This is the first extensive revision of the Policy in seven years. Highlights of the Policy changes include: excluding coverage for vehicles used in all types of ride-sharing programs, clarifying Property Damage Liability coverage to exclude claims for towing and damage to the insured auto, eliminating duplicate payments under Medical Payments, and aligning the cancellation provisions with statute, along with editorial revisions of Policy language. Please refer to Private Passenger Notice PP-067 or General Notice G-1912."
